A Cockpit gathers and holds the current and historical data for one part of the business, Sales, Debtors, Creditors, Stock, and an Analytics Cockpit across all of them. It is where the operational numbers live.
What a Cockpit does
It shows the numbers and the trend for its part of the business over a rolling fifteen months, daily through to year on year. It does not decorate. Numbers and trend lines, not pie charts. It ends each view with a plain reading of the problem, the likely cause, and the corrective action.
Who sees which Cockpit
Each Cockpit is allocated to the staff who work that part of the business. Debtors staff see the Debtors Cockpit, not the others. Access is set in the roles and permissions table and opens automatically on sign in.
